We love the act of opening a box of Valerie’s toffees, all trussed up with beautiful silk ribbon; it’s almost like you’re undressing it. Inside, handmade rich, buttery toffee, enveloped in dark Valrhona chocolate, beckons. Crunchy, organic California almonds stud the toffee, which is made in small batches, and the whole thing is finished off with fleur de sel for a lingering savory finish.
About Valerie Confections
Valerie Gordon loves chocolate. She opened her Los Angeles shop with partner, Stan Weightman Jr., in 2004. Since then, Valerie Confections has been crafting some of the best cakes, jams, teas, petits fours, and chocolates you can find. Everything is hand-made in small batches from the finest ingredients, many of them sourced from LA farmers markets. The Los Angeles Times even called her Toffee a revelation, and we totally agree.
