If your kitchen accessories drawer is as full as ours, you’ve probably got a creme brulee torch in there somewhere along with your fondue forks. Given that creme brulee is the only recipe I’ve failed at, I immediately saw the benefit of ready made organic creme brulee. The other day Robert, maker of rich super creamy Sweet. Creme Brulee, which comes in cute glass jars, stopped by to show us how it’s done.

Using a heavy duty commercial torch, he first sprinkled a generous layer of organic cane sugar, then torched it for a few seconds, removing the heat as soon as it melted. Repeat 2 more times. Wait a couple minutes and voila! Le perfect creme brulee. Very nice for an Easter tea party.

Other ways to use one of the creme brulee torches designed for consumers: Urban s’mores! A Foodzie favorite. Watch Rob’s torching technique, using BonBonBar marshmallows and Kika’s Treats chocolate covered caramelized grahams.
