Over the past year, dozens of new foodmakers and products filled our marketplace. There were some trends that we loved, others that we’d like to see left behind.

 

 

Liddabitsweets Beer and Pretzel Caramels

1. We couldn’t stop drinking our microbrews (and we loved it in our food too!)

 

 

 

Bourbon Smoked Paprika

2. Bourbon, bourbon, bourbon in everything.

Fresno Chili- INNA jam

 

 

 

 

 

3. Fruit pickles, more pickles & more jam; this year was all about putting things in jars.

 

Bacon Peanut Brittles

4. We got over our obsession with bacon. Although we still like it a lot (especially with peanuts).

 

 

 

Chocolate Dipped Espresso Caramel

5. We’re still going gaga over anything with salt & caramel.

 

Also…

 

6. Savory granolas showed up on restaurant menus in 2010 and now we’re seeing new foodmakers adding the not-so-sweet version to the granola line-up for 2011.

 

 


7. We started enjoying seaweed as foodcrafters began foraging for wild varieties. Great sauteed and as a snack, we think we’ll be seeing this sea vegetable more often in 2011.
