I just spent the last 5 days eating, all day. Yes, life is good. :-)

From day one to day five, I transitioned from Good Food to Fancy Food. The difference? Food focused on taste, authenticity, and responsible production (aka the Good Food Ceremony and Marketplace) versus food that felt like mostly marketing (aka the Fancy Food Show). Keep in mind that some Foodzie producers have booths at the Fancy Food Show, so there’s definitely some quality, good food hidden in those tiny booths, you just have to wade through a whole bunch of fancy suits to get there.

Seeing the other option, I’m very thankful for Sarah and her big vision for the Good Food Awards. I’m excited for the celebration of truly great, delicious food and the people that dedicate their lives to the craft. As Alice Waters said during the opening ceremony, “We have this extraordinary opportunity to define what is good and bring dignity back to the people that make our food. When there is a high bar for taste and purity of ingredients, everyone pays attention.” A big congratulations to the Foodzie producers who are doing just that and took home awards this year!
