The Amella Caramel Story
Growing up in Uzbekistan, life wasn’t always easy for Elena Kiamilev. Over the years, she found comfort in baking delicious cakes, which helped her family weather the more difficult times. Elena’s husband, Emir, was raised in California, but traveled the globe extensively before arriving in Elena’s home country, where the couple eventually met and fell in love. After a disagreement over using fresh carrot in a caramel recipe, Amella was born, starting a tradition of decadent caramels made with real cocoa butter and, yes, fresh fruits and vegetables.
How the Caramels are Made
It takes about one full day to make each rich, luscious Amella Caramel. Handmade from scratch in small batches, there’s no rushing the process. The Kiamilevs start with all natural ingredients, including real passion fruit, pure cocoa butter and Tahitian Vanilla. The caramel is slowly and carefully cooked and then cooled to the proper consistency. The caramels are then cut into perfect squares and enrobed in a special blend of the finest quality French and Belgian milk chocolate.
