The Flour Craft Bakery Story


Heather Hardcastle is the mastermind behind the 100% organic granola at Flour Craft Bakery in San Rafael, CA. A graduate of the Baking and Pastry Program at the Culinary Institute of America in Napa Valley, Heather combines her alchemist-like expertise with a desire for quality “wheat free” or “low gluten” baked goods to “create elegantly organic food using simple and fresh ingredients.”


How Cranberry Almond Granola is Made


Heather’s inspiration came from a lifelong search for the perfect granola. In her experience, the granolas she’d tasted were always “too clumpy, too sweet, too raw, or too nutty.” So, what makes Flour Craft Bakery’s Cranberry Almond Granola so distinctive? Heather slow roasts the oats and nuts in order to develop deep caramel notes. She then adds extra virgin olive oil for a “fruity, slightly grassy flavor” and a big dash of sea salt for “briny-ness”. Try this sweet-savory-salty treat on yogurt, with fresh fruit, or simply by itself.
